MSSI, Kolkata celebrated World MS Day on this 31st of May, 2018. The venue decided was at the hugely popular and frequented Kala Mandir. The star attraction of the evening was celebrated  Sidhu of Bangla band Cactus who lent his voice to support spreading awareness on MS to the maximum. SIDHU HAS COMPOSED A NEW SONG FOR THE CAUSE ” bhalo thakar gaan ” AND offered A SPECIAL PERFORMANCE WITH THE AFFECTED PEOPLE ON THE DAY.

Eventually, Rupankar and Sidhu jointly observed the day this year sang the song ” Bhalo Thakar Gaan” together. The cause united both of them to share the stage together on this song and followed by their individual performances.

Last Year Rupankar composed and sang a special song “Sanket ” for the same cause. This year Sidhu took the opportunity to join hand in hand to observe the day along with affected people. It showcased how music heals, offers a feel-good experience! As a whole, it was an evening of good music to serve the cause.

It’s seen music heals so what would have been being a better option to observe the day except for music. It is not a very known disease so awareness is highly required. Rupankar a noted singer who was also not aware of it before he came to perform and compose a new song for the affected last year.  This year Sidhu a noted singer from the leading Bangla band Cactus joined hand in hand to create a new song ” Bhalo Thakar Gaan: to create awareness. Both the singers came together to perform on 31 May 2018 at Kala Mandir. It is seen affected people join in songs while artiste perform. Music is one of the best medicines even for noncurable diseases.

Multiple Sclerosis Society of India (MSSI) is a registered voluntary, non-profit organization.. MSSI works for the welfare of persons affected by Multiple Sclerosis.

The Society is a member of the Multiple Sclerosis International Federation (MSIF) based in London, UK. MSSI works in co-operation with 48 other member countries of MSIF, thereby working in collaborating with similar organization all over the world. Multiple Sclerosis Society of Indiawas established on July 26, 1985 and is a support group managed by the MSPs (MS Persons) for the MSPs.

The Kolkata Chapter of MSSI was established on 23 July, 1990with the initiative of Mr.Tobaccowala, the then chairman of Voltas Ltd, along with Mrs. Sheila Chitnis and Mrs. R.S. Fazalbhoy, an eminent social worker. The Chapter was registered on 16 September, 1992. Mr.RusiGimi was our first Chairman and Mrs.ZarinGimi, his wife was our chief patron. Our 20 years of existence is crowded with many events. Now we are dealing with 200 MS patients in Kolkata and adjacent areas who are registered with MSSI, Kolkata. But the actual numbers are assumed to be far more.
