Debi Tirtha Kamrup Kamakhya for GPC screening
NJ Thakuria,Guwahati: As Ambubachi festival starts on 22 June 2018, an old movie titled ‘Debi Tirtha Kamrup Kamakhya’ is scheduled for screening at Guwahati Press Club on Friday (starting at 3.30 pm). The 1967 Bengali movie deals with the stories of king Bishwa Singha and his brother Shiva Singha with the legend of Devi Kamakhya. Directed by Manu Sen, the film has music by Anil Bagchi and its casts include Asit Baran, Nripati Chattopadhyay, Prabir Kumar, Gita Dey, Renuka Ray etc.
Ambubachi (also known as Amoti and Ambabati) is an important festival organized annually at the temple of Mother Goddess Kamakhya (Kameshwari), which is recognized as one of sacred 108 Shakti Peeths of Mother Goddess Durga.
Down Town Hospitals to conduct media clinic on Thursday
NJ Thakuria,Guwahati: The city-based Down Town Hospital will conduct the next media OPD clinic at Guwahati Press Club on 21 June 2018, where Dr. Subendu M Buzarbaruah (Gynaecology) will be available for necessary consultations. All lady members of the press club along with the spouses of other journalists can avail the opportunity in the two-hour camp on Thursday starting from 3 pm. The participants will also get the facility to check their blood pressures.
