Calcutta chamber of commerce held a conference on Fiji Indian relations today at Lalit great eastern. The guest of honor was H.E. Mr. Yogesh Punja, High Commissioner Republic of Fiji of India and Mr. Harsh Vardhan Patodia, Hony Consul of the Republic of Fiji, Kolkata. The discussion was based on the Fiji India relations especially the socio-economic relations. Fiji is the most developed and connected Economics on Pacific Island.
India Fiji relations have grown steadily over the recent years. According to the Lowy institute pacific aid map, India has a total of 105 ongoing and completed project. 37percent of the population is comprised of Indo Fijians. One of the major milestones achieved was Fiji become the founding member of the international solar alliance(ISA). The joint initiatives by India and France came into force in 2017 and hold promise to unlock the solar energy for the benefit of ISA members. India provides hundred of scholarships for short term and long term training courses in India. Under the Indian technical and economic cooperation every year for strengthening hard cooperation with Fiji.
