Travel World Online TV organised from 3-5th of March ‘Film Tourism Conclave 2021’ on a Luxury River Cruise ‘Antara’ and at Rajbari Bawali a 300 year old iconic Heritage property. The conclave was a wonderful initiative to bring in popular media like cinema and television and tourism together in these difficult times as economy and enterprises need a much needed boost.

Prominent film and TV personalities were briefed on the opportunities and initiatives taken by the local governments and private hospitality stake holders.

Vivek Agnihotri, a well known filmmaker, asserted that India has the biggest soft power in the world and we need to harness it.

Filmmaker Pankaj Parasher, stressed on the need to establish basic requirements like ease of operations, single window clearances and subsidies to boost film-tourism.

Akshaye Rathi, director Saroj Screens, spoke about the immense potential in the hidden pockets of India and cinemas being the apt medium to tap it.

Asit Modi, producer of popular TV show ‘Tarak Mehta Ka Oolta Chashma’ said that “The entertainment industry is dynamic & prilovides abundant opportunities to integrate with Tourism. Both of these industries go hand in hand. Film/TV industry plays a vital role in influencing families to travel and visit places through its content. Tarak Mehta ka Ulta Chashma has been actively promoting destinations across globe”

Award winning filmmaker and screenwriter Mayur Puri, suggested that with the infrastructure development, there should also be an intiative to develop ‘film culture’ to harness the hidden potential of the local talent. He also proposed that more workshops and mentorship programs for young talent should be held.

A presentation by Mr Mayank Gupta from Chhattisgarh Tourism Board gave an insight into the land of surprises. Chhattisgarh tourism exposing the potential of the new state to the media was also held and applauded by all.

All the guests were very happy with the initiative and the hospitality. They promised that the first step towards creating awareness in this direction was taken in the form of this conclave and soon there would be observable difference in the perception of local tourism in India.
Producer and actor Pallavi Joshi, Kamal ji from UFO movies, CEO Welcomheritage Mr Abinash Manghani, Manmeet Singh IATO president North India, Sanjeev Mehra – Presidnet SKAL International Club -Kolkatta were also present.
