Janata Congress Party to contest in majority seats in West Bengal Assembly Election 2021

Step towards “Bhay, Bhukh, Bhrashtachar Mukt” West Bengal

Kolkata, 5th March, 2021: West Bengal, the thought leader of India is on the verge of experiencing India’s most sought after assembly election and Janata Congress Party has decided to contest in majority seats in West Bengal Assembly Election. National President of the party, Dr. Mehtab Ray was present today at Press Club, Kolkata to announce the party’s first major foray in West Bengal Election. Janata Congress Party aims to make West Bengal a state free from “Bhay, Bhukh & Bhrashtachar”.

Janata Congress Party has been active in various districts of West Bengal since last three & half years. The party fought major state elections under the leadership of Dr. Mehtab Ray in the states of Himachal Pradesh, Maharastra, Madhya Pradesh & Bihar.

The topography of Bengal politics is changing from a tradition of conscious and consensually managed secular competition to polarisation along communally divided identities. BJP is trying to reap the political dividend of 10 year’s of anti incumbancy on the communal lines lauding its slogan “Lokhho Sonar Bangla”. But alas! They failed India during the last 6 years of rule, India experienced higher social unrest, unemeployment, looming economic crisis, price rises, farmers suicide and now agravating farmer’s protest across the length and breadth of India against the new farm bill. Cripling GDP and per capita numbers are sign of real worry for India. Since unemployment was already at a record high before the lockdown, a downward spiral of the economy would be nothing short of a disaster. What is more, with the real economy on such a downward spiral the financial sector would be saddled with non-performing assets which would spell ruin for it.

On the other hand, TMC Govt. in West Bengal failed to deliver on the promises after the decisive victory over left in 2011. Grass root level corruption, allegations of cut money & extorsions, syndicate raaj and unemployment has crippled Bengal’s economy to its core. There was a time when people from rest of India used to come to Bengal in search of jobs but the reverse trend has only increased during the last 10-20 years. In the aftermath of Cyclone Amphan, there was large-scale misappropriation of relief funds through the elected representatives of the TMC, compelling Ms. Mamata Banerjee to order her party functionaries to return the ill-gotten money. The Calcutta High Court has ordered the Comptroller and Auditor-General of India to conduct financial and performance audits of Amphan relief disbursement in response to several PILs alleging wrongdoings. The overuse of government and administrative machinery has eroded the local people’s trust in their once beloved ‘Didi’.

Bengal needs a fresh new start, a true poribartan for a better society, for a better state, the state world knows as “What Bengal Thinks Today, India Thinks Tomorrow”. Janata congress Party can bring real ‘Poribartan’ and bring back Bengal’s glorious past.
