VICTORY FLAME HONOURED AT ECO PARK, NEW TOWN, KOLKATA

India is celebrating ‘Swarnim Vijay Varsh’ in remembrance of 50 years of strategic victory in 1971 Indo-Pak War, which resulted in the creation of a new nation ‘Bangladesh’.
The Victory Flame symbolizing India’s victory was lit at Delhi on 16 Dec 2020 by Sri Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Prime Minister, is travelling in four cardinal directions across the county. A grand reception for the Victory Flame was organized at Eco Park, New Town under the aegis of Headquarters Bengal Sub Area on 26 Nov 2021. Hon’ble MP Mimi Chakraborty was the Chief Guest for the event. Prominent Military Dignitaries from the three services and other Civil Dignitaries were also present for the occasion.
A Military Band Display along with the screening of a War Film on ‘1971 War of Liberation’ were the highlights of the event. The Victory Flame will be stationed at Kolkata till 04 Dec 2021. Under the arrangements of Headquarters Bengal Sub Area, the Victory Flame will be taken to the residences of the heroes of the 1971 War who were awarded medals for their gallantry and to those who gave supreme sacrifice to pay tribute for their valiant service to the nation.
