Expansion of Area under Coconut (AEP) Scheme of Coconut Development Board

The Coconut Development Board is implementing a scheme, ‘Expansion of area under coconut’ for promoting new planting with coconut varieties suitable for different areas as well as different purposes. During the current year 2022-23 Massive expansion of area under coconut, especially development of block plantations, on cluster basis is identified as a focus area to increase the future production and productivity.
Any farmer who is having minimum 13 cents (0.05 ha) of land, and has planted minimum five coconut seedlings (Tall/Dwarf/ Hybrid) in his land can avail the benefit in two annual instalments. Eligible subsidy ranges from Rs. 6,500/ha to Rs. 15,000/ha depending on land area type (normal, hilly, scheduled) and plant variety (tall, dwarf, hybrid). A person is eligible for subsidy up to a maximum of 4 hectares.
Quality seedlings either from DSP Farm, Coconut Development Board, Fulia, Nadia, Government nurseries, nurseries recognized by respective State Governments or those produced by farmers themselves with certification of the Agricultural Officer could be used for planting.

Duly filled/certified applications can be handed over to the Board officials. Interested farmers can collect application forms also. Certified applications for second year subsidy will also be accepted from those who have received subsidy in previous financial year.
