Kera Suraksha Insurance Scheme for Coconut Climbers

The Coconut Development Board (CDB) is implementing the Kera Suraksha Insurance Scheme for Coconut Climbers in association with the New India Assurance Company Ltd.
The sum assured under the policy is Rs. 5 lakhs against 24 hours accident related risk including death and Rs. 1 lakh for hospitalisation charges. CDB will provide one year free insurance coverage to all the trainees under its Friends of Coconut Tree and Neera technician training programmes.
The annual premium under the policy is Rs. 375, of which Board will bear the premium share of Rs. 281. Insurance coverage can be renewed by interested beneficiaries by paying Rs. 94only. Traditional coconut tree climbers aged between 18 and 65 can also enroll for this scheme by paying the yearly premium of Rs. 94.
The payment of premium can be made online or through DD for Rs. 94, drawn in favour of COCONUT DEVELOPMENT BOARD, payable at Ernakulam, Kerala. The application form duly filled in and countersigned by Agriculture officer/Panchayat President/CPF office bearers/CPC Directors along with premium share and age proof needs to be sent to Chairman, CDB, Kera Bhavan, SRVHS Road, Kochi – 682011, Kerala.
