The dream of humanity – Common hope and one future

The world as it exists today fills us with so much disappointment. On the one hand are the USA and the western powers whose civilization is material advancement. The watchword of Western civilization is material advancement. We won’t hesitate to say that greed is the driving force of western civilization. Western civilization has propped up the United Nations to resolve world conflicts but unfortunately, its success ratio is almost nil today. You don’t get to see the United Nations in the flashpoints of the world. That is because the United Nations is totally under the control of the USA and Occidental nations. It is headquartered in New York. The United Nations, which protects western interests, has been rather unsuccessful in resolving disputes between nations.
On the other hand, we have oriental nations namely India, Russia, and China, and a host of other nations. The commonality of these oriental nations is that they are traditional in outlook and respect family values, cherish humanity, love nature, and are God-fearing. These countries are rising in power and influence today. Even from a materialistic standpoint, these oriental nations are emerging markets and want a say in how the world is run today.
The present dispensation is full of defects and incredulities. There is a lack of trust among nations. The driving force of western civilization is competition. Competition only means that there would be a winner and there would be many losers. It is impossible to make a healthy and peaceful society in a competitive society. People are never satisfied and with the way the world is run today, this is quite apparent. There are no set rules and regulations under the present dispensation. I wish to point out the recent case of Adani industries. We have seen that in order to maintain its dominant position, the west can go to absurd limits.
When Mr. Gautam Adani began to emerge as one of the most successful businessmen in the world, the vested interests in the western nations particularly the USA began to defame him and his business tactics under the guise of evaluation and rating by western short sellers and rating agencies. However, even in the west, there are sane voices and many institutions have also depreciated such practices.
The International Diplomatic Club, whose focus is to create an amicable platform for nations to plan and construct their businesses and resolve conflicts, is very well aware of the danger the world is in. The International Development Club firmly believes in the Vedic concept of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” i.e. the fact that the whole universe is my family under the fatherhood of God and the brotherhood of man. It recognizes that every nation is special in itself. Every nation has a special spiritual status. Every nation is naturally important. The International Development Club proposes a “spiritual Davos” whose basic objective would be first to promote sattvic geopolitical conflict resolution and secondly to foster and promote business exchanges by companies throughout the world under sattvik inspiration. The International Development Club discourages the hegemony of particular mighty nations but promotes a peaceful detente of world powers. We propose the setting up of a spiritual United Nations which would foster a new world order under which advanced technology would not be used for the mechanization of militaries across the world but for the spiritual development and material comfort of people across the world. Unless there is significant sattva guna in our dealings we will never be able to set up a more humane society.
We must realize that the current dispensation is animalists. A world order based on greed can not survive for long. On the ruins of the world order as it exists today, the Spiritual United Nations or Davos will arbiter and mediate issues of geopolitical and international trade and commerce under sattvic principle of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” . It is a dream which we must fulfill in order that human civilization lives and flourishes.
