PRE MATRIC SCHOLARSHIP FOR OBCS, EBCS AND DNTS

- Budget for Pre Matric Scholarship for OBCS, EBCs AND DNTs increased to Rs. 394.61 crore in 2022-23 as compared to Rs. 250 crore in 2021-22
The budget provision for financial year 2021-22 under the Scheme of Pre Matric Scholarship for Other Backward Classes (OBCs), Economically Backward Classes (EBCs) and De-Notified Tribes (DNTs) was Rs. 250.00 crore. Whereas in financial year 2022-23, the budget provision is Rs. 394.61 crore.
Pre Matric Scholarship scheme for OBCs, EBCs and DNTs has been revised in 2021-22 with an objective to cover approx 5.67 crore students under the scheme during the period of five year over the XV Finance Commission Cycle.
This information was given by the Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Sushri Pratima Bhoumik in a written reply in Lok Sabha, today.
