Ganga Samvad was organized by the Indian Institute of Public Administration, New Delhi in collaboration with the South Asian Institute for Advanced Research and Development, Kolkata under the aegis of “Blended Capacity Building Program for Stakeholders of River Ganga” sponsored by the National Mission for Clean Ganga, Ministry of Jal Shakti, Department of Water Resources, River Development, and Ganga Rejuvenation in the presence of Shri Surendra Nath Tripathi, Director General, Indian Institute of Public Administration, Shri Biswajit Roy Chowdhury, Chairman Founder, South Asian Institute for Advanced Research and Development, Dr. Nandini Ghosh, Senior Special Secretary, Govt. of West Bengal, Prof. Tuhin Ghosh, Director, School of Oceanographic Studies, Jadavpur University, Prof. Vinod K. Sharma, Senior Professor, IIPA.
The event began with Saraswati Vandana performed by team SAIARD; this was followed by watering the plant by the dignitaries sitting on the dais. On behalf of IIPA, Shri Surendra Nath Tripathi, Director General, and Prof. Vinod K. Sharma, Faculty, presented the memento, modules, and calendars to fellow dignitaries. Mr. Tanmoy Mukherjee, Senior Manager – Administration, Linde South Asia Services Private Limited was also felicitated by IIPA. Then, opening remarks were presented by Shri Biswajit Roy Chowdhury. This was followed by a presentation given by Prof. Vinod K. Sharma about the project & expectations. Then presidential remarks were delivered by Shri Surendra Nath Tripathi. Presentation on “Use of Low-Cost Technology in Treating Sewer: A Case study & Reuse of Treated Water” was given by Dr. Nandini Ghosh. Another presentation was delivered by Prof. Vinod K. Sharma on “Key Aspects of River Ganga”. Prof. Tuhin Ghosh delivered a presentation on “Ganga and her Delta”. The cultural performance was given by Saffron Dance Academy under the guidance of their mentor Mr. Probal Chokrobarthy. Finally, the event was concluded by a vote of thanks delivered by Prof. Vinod K. Sharma.
