JOKA-TARATALA (PURPLE LINE) METRO SERVICES TO DOUBLE FROM 01.05.2023 (MONDAY)

Another Good News for the Metro commuters! Responding to the demand of commuters, Metro General Manager, Shri P. Uday Kumar Reddy after studying the footfall pattern as well as conducting a detailed survey has decided to increase the number of daily services on Purple Line for the benefit of the people on the Behala area.
Metro Railway is going to double its number of daily services on the Joka-Taratala stretch of the Purple Line from 01.05.2023 (Monday) within four months of the commencement of services on that stretch. From that day, 24 daily services (12 UP + 12 DN) instead of 12 services will be run between Joka and Taratala from Monday to Friday following the “One Train Only System”.
Frequency of Metro services on the Joka – Taratala stretch (From Monday to Friday) will be 40 minutes instead of 60 minutes from that day. There will be no gap in services during noon hours on Purple Line.
First Metro from Joka will be available at 08.55 hrs. and the last service from Joka will be available at 16.20 hrs. There will be no service gap from 12.00 hrs to 15.00 hrs from Joka in the UP direction.
First Metro from Taratala will be available at 09.20 hrs and the last service from Taratala will be available at 16.40 hrs. There will be no service gap from 12.30 hrs to 15.30 hrs from Taratala in the DN direction.
Kausik Mitra, CPRO, Metro Railway has said that the long cherished demand of the office goers and students of different educational institutions will be fulfilled. This increase in the number of daily services on this route will benefit the people of that area.
There will be no commercial services on Saturdays and Sundays during this stretch.
