GENERAL MANAGER / EASTERN RAILWAY INSPECTED PROGRESS OF GOGHAT- MAYNAPORE NEW BROAD GAUGE CONSTRUCTION WORK

In an endeavor to expedite commissioning of new sections, today , Shri Amar Prakash Dwivedi, General Manager/Eastern Railway inspected the progress of ongoing work for construction of new Broad Gauge line between Goghat & Maynapur as a part of Tarakeswar-Bishnupur Broad Gauge Rail link section. General Manager/Eastern Railway inspected different important points and stations under construction and plans for construction station buildings in this section viz. Goghat, Maynapur, Jairambati, Kamarpukur. Each and every details of construction like piling work, laying of track, construction of bridges, construction of Road Under Bridges, Construction of Station Platform, Platform Sheds, Foot Over Bridges, Station Building & other ancillary works were thoroughly scrutinized by the General Manager.
While inspecting at Maynapur, Shri Dwivedi advised for increasing the platform height and improvement of platform surface for the convenience of passengers. The General Manager thoroughly inspected the construction work and site plan for Jairambati stations which will be developed as an international standard Railway station to serve the pilgrims or tourists coming to this area. He instructed all concerned so that the construction work at the important station will be of such a standard to provide a package of all facilities at the station area vis-à-vis reflection of the historical importance and heritage associated with these areas.
Kamarpukur and Jairambati are the sacred places being the native village of Jugapurush Shri Shri Ramakrishna and Holy Mother Sarada Devi. These areas are very closely associated with the faith & philosophy of millions of people which should be given outmost importance and Railway facility should render all possible comfort for them, which Shri Dwivedi , General Manager advised to construction wing and divisional officers.
General Manager / Eastern Railway has put out-most stress on speedy completion of construction work of this new line section which will act as a connecting link between Tarakeswar in Hoogly District on one side and Bishnupur in Bankura District on the other, thus completing an important pilgrimage circuit covering Tarakeswar, Jairambati, Kamarpukur and Bishnupur. He also discussed with the accompanying Principal Heads of Departments of Eastern Railway Headquarters and Divisional Railway Manager /Howrah to expedite the speed of the construction.
