On the eve of Independence Day, the Indian Museum hosted ‘Amritanjali’, a melodious cultural event commemorating the heroes of Indian independence at Ashutosh Birth Centenary Hall. Dance performance by Dikshamanjari, choreographed by noted Odissi dancer Dona Ganguly, songs by Dr. Ananda Gupta of Dakshinayan UK, and narration was by Ketan Sengupta. Arijit Dutta Choudhury, Director in Charge, Indian Museum was present at the do.
Songs like Amar Sonar Bangla, Janani Tomar Karun Charan Khani, while Dr. Ananda Gupta sang Chiro Sakha Hey Chhero Na dance performed by Raghunath Das, Dona Ganguly appeared on songs like Bishwa Sathe Joge, Aji Nutana Ratane, Amar Sonar Bangla. It featured songs of Rabindranath Tagore, and Kazi Nazrul Islam besides that it celebrated the conclusion of 150 birth anniversary year of Rishi Arabinda. Pt Biplab Mandal and Subrata Babu Mukherjee were responsible for accompaniment on the percussion and keys. Dona Ganguly said, ” We must celebrate such an auspicious occasion to remember the heroes who made our nation free. ” Dr. Ananda Gupta said,” It feels great that we celebrated this important occasion at such a prestigious venue. I also feel we must culture such contributions who made us proud and made us free, the next generation should learn about them. This is why such initiatives are highly required.”
