LAND SLIDE BETWEEN HABRA & MASLANDAPUR FOLLOWING TORRENTIAL RAINS

Kolkata, August 25, 2023

Following torrential rains, land slide was observed beside the Up line between Habra & Maslandapur station of the Barasat – Bangaon section at about 07:00 a.m. today (25.8.2023). Observing the land slide, train movement on the Up line had to be controlled as a safety measure. Railway crew immediately rushed to the site to restore the bank of the Railway track and after completion of the bank restoration work train movements through the Up line between Habra & Maslandapur resumed at about 9:30 hrs. at a restricted speed. Down-line movement were however unaffected. After 9.30 hrs. both the up & down movements were normal. Eastern Railway has taken all-out efforts to complete the restoration work within minimum time. As a sequel to this, 4 EMU locals had to be cancelled & 2 EMU locals were short-terminated. The inconvenience caused to the passengers is deeply regretted.
