RESTAURANTS ON WHEELS AT ASANSOL AND HOWRAH STATIONS SATISFY THE PALATES OF FOOD LOVERS

Eastern Railway has been the pioneer in launching ‘Restaurant on Wheels’, the first of such kind was launched date back in 2020 at Asansol station wherein two over-aged out-of-service MEMU coaches were converted into full-fledged restaurants cum food outlets. These two coaches are stable outside the Asansol station circulating area to transform the station into a city hub attracting thousands of city dwellers as a prominent zone of economic activities in this highly industrial city. This unique effort will not only improve the facilities at Asansol station but also generate non fare revenue earnings.
In an endeavor of Eastern Railway to create more facilities at the Railway Station for the inhabitants around it, a Railway Coach Restaurant has been opened at Bapu Udyan, Howrah with a multi-cuisine facility with an enhanced blend of sophistication and cultural richness. These restaurants at Asansol and Howrah also cater to the need to hold different ceremonial functions like Birthdays, Marriage anniversaries, etc. for which the people of that area get a pleasant ambiance with palatable food within the reach of their hands. Pre-booking facilities are also available at the Rail Coach Restaurants which ultimately help the interested persons to put an end to their search for any other places except food hubs on wheels at Railway station adjacent areas for holding such functions. The ambiance, scenic beauty, and development of green patches around this Rail Coach Restaurant add a flavor of wooden serenity while the people enjoy the food served.
