EASTERN RAILWAY AUGMENTED SECURITY SURVEILLANCE

The security team of Eastern Railway is on high alert and increased vigilance in the wake of Republic Day celebrations to curb any kind of disrupting activities in Railway jurisdiction. Being committed to the security of passengers, RPF/ RPSF personnel have been deployed at several places, and round-the-clock monitoring of stations, train compartments, tracks, and other strategic points is continuing as a preventative check with special emphasis on vulnerable zones.
In the Sealdah Division, the security team has spread everywhere and searching for any kind of sabotage that may cause damage to Railway property loss of lives, or to Railway movement. Luggage scanners and sniffer dogs are in wide use over the division. In the Howrah division also the security check has been stepped up and anti-sabotage drive is conducted everywhere like Azimganj, Ambika Kalna, Sainthia, Barddhaman, Nalhati, Howrah, and many other stations. Any suspected material is being checked, round the clock patrolling on the Railway track is continuing with special emphasis on night ambush. RPF at Malda and Asansol Divisions also monitoring at every corner.
Shri Kausik Mitra, Chief Public Relations Officer, Eastern Railway said that safety & security is always on high priority for Eastern Railway and the augmented security measure is a testament to Eastern Railway’s commitment to ensuring passenger security.
