EASTERN RAILWAY’S SEALDAH DIVISION REMINDS TO AVOID USING FIRE NEAR RAILWAY TRACK AS A SAFETY MEASURE

• Fire Incident Near Railway Tracks between Sodepur-Agarpara Highlights Safety Concerns.

Kolkata, February 18, 2024:

Sealdah Division of Eastern Railway wishes to bring to the public attention a recent fire incident that occurred on February 10, 2024, at approximately 7:30 pm. A hut located outside the railway fencing near the down main line between Sodepur and Agarpara station caught fire, posing a potential threat to the safety of passengers and railway property.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported in this incident. However, it serves as a stark reminder of the dangers associated with using fire near railway tracks. Divisional Railway Manager Sri Deepak Nigam urges the public and passengers to exercise extreme caution and refrain from using fire in close proximity to railway tracks.

To raise awareness about this critical issue, the Sealdah Division has organized an awareness campaign through

• Leaflet distribution: Informative bilingual leaflets highlighting the danger of using fire near railway tracks will be distributed at stations and public areas within the division. And also remove illegal encroachment from railway land.
• Community outreach: Railway officials will engage with local communities and educate them about railway safety practices.

Divisional Railway Manager Sri Nigam, also stated the safety of our passengers is our top priority. Using fire near railway tracks is not only illegal but also incredibly dangerous. It can damage railway property, disrupt operations, and endanger the lives of passengers and railway personnel. We urge everyone to be mindful of their actions and help us ensure a safe travel experience for all.

Sealdah Division is committed to ensuring the safety and security of its passengers and employees. We urge everyone to cooperate with us in preventing such incidents and promoting safe travel for all.
