Sister Nivedita University Celebrates 6 Years of Impact on Foundation Day
Sister Nivedita University, established with a vision in 2017 of transformative impact on the society through its inclusiveness a continuous innovation in education, is proud to announce the celebration of its 6th year Foundation Day on February 22, 2024.
To commemorate this special occasion, Sister Nivedita University hosted noted and revered Dignitaries who were a part of this celebration to share the joy of the university’s meaningful contributions.
Amidst the special guests gracing the occasion were, Prof Sugata Bose, Gardiner Professor of Oceanic History & Affairs, Harvard University and former member of Parliament who delivered the foundation Day Oration on Sister Nivedita & Swadeshi Internationalism, Mr Sovandeb Chattopadhyay, Hon’ble Minister of Agriculture, Government of West Bengal, Smt Pramila Kumari, Minister of State for Education, Science & Technology, Nepal, Prof Bhola Thapa, Vice Chancellor, Kathmandu University, Padmabhushan Pandit Shri Ajoy Chakraborty, Ms Elizabeth Lee, acting Consul General, US Consulate, Director American Centre, Kolkata.
Mr. Martin Kämpchen, renowned author, translator, journalist, social worker, and Internationally respected scholar on the philosophy of Rabindranath Tagore and Sri Ramakrishna was conferred the D.Litt ( Honoris Causa ) of 2023.
Chancellor Sister Nivedita University, Mr Satyam Roychowdhury along with Vice Chancellor Prof Dhrubajyoti Chattopadhyay, Group CEO Dr Sanku Bose, Registrar Prof Suman Chatterjee, and other senior officials were also present during this auspicious occasion.
A series of Cultural events followed the deliberations of the above dignitaries along with announcements of important MOUs which were consolidated last year between Sister Nivedita University and other Universities namely Bradley University and the University of Waterloo. Student achievers in the fields of academics, sports & entrepreneurship received awards for their noted contributions.
Next Generation Entrepreneurship Award was given to Mr. Mehul Mohanka, Managing Director, Tega Industries Ltd. Amidst other dignitaries also present from several institutions & Industries were Mr. Gautam Roy, Vice President, BCCI, Mr Manjit Nayak, Director, Software Technology Parks of India.
