MOCK FIRE DRILL CUM TRAINING CONDUCTED AT HOWRAH MAIDAN METRO STATION

Metro Railway takes all possible measures and care for ensuring commuters safety. Shri P Uday Kumar Reddy, General Manager, Metro Railway regularly monitors and reviews safety measurements adopted in the Lifeline of the City to avoid any untoward incident like fire. In order to check the preparedness of Metro staff of different departments to tackle any fire emergency inside the tunnels or on the viaduct, regular mock drills are conducted in Kolkata Metro.
One such mock fire drill cum training for field staff of Metro Railway was conducted under the supervision of Senior Officers today i.e. on 29.02.2024 at Howrah Maidan Metro Station which is going to be inaugurated shortly. In this drill, Metro staff were imparted training to douse the flame through simulation of various fire and smoke conditions at Metro station.
Staff from Traffic, Electrical, Signal and Telecommunications, RPF, and Fire & Safety Departments participated in this mock drill. It is expected that such a drill will sharpen the skill and alertness of Metromen to respond to any emergency situation minimize the rescue time and restore normalcy at the earliest.
