MALDA DIVISION TAKES INITIATIVE TO ENSURE DRINKING WATER AVAILABILITY AT RAILWAY STATIONS

Kolkata, April 13, 2024:

Eastern Railway’s Malda Division is taking proactive steps to ensure the availability of drinking water for passengers at all stations within its jurisdiction. With the approach of the summer season and the potential for heat waves, Malda Division is intensifying its efforts to review and enhance the supply of potable water.

To bolster these efforts, today on 13.04.2024 a campaign was organised at Malda town Railway Station by scouts and guides team for providing drinking water to quench the thirst of thousands of passengers travelling daily from/via Malda Town Station. The railway scouts and guides team distributed cold water among the passengers of general coaches at platform no 01 of Malda Station. During this programme Railway officials were present to guide and encourage the scout team.
This campaign came as a relief to rail travelers during hot and sultry conditions.
Similar campaigns will be conducted at other stations as well.

Furthermore, all existing water coolers, booths, and taps are undergoing thorough inspection to ensure functionality. Additional water facilities will be installed on platforms, including new water coolers, to address any water scarcity issues. Railway staff will monitor water availability round-the-clock to promptly address any emerging concerns.

Malda Division remains steadfast in its commitment to providing a comfortable and convenient travel experience for all passengers. These proactive measures aim to ensure easy access to clean drinking water at stations throughout the summer season.
