QR CODE PAYMENT FACILITY NOW AVAILABLE AT METRO STATION’S TOILET AND SHOPS
Kolkata, Date: 13.04.2024

Metro Railway authorities have been taking different initiatives to further improve passengers’ experience in Metro premises. A new unique feature has been added to the passenger amenities. Metro passengers can now use their smart phone to make payment via QR-code payment system and avail the pay-and-use toilet at Dakshineswar Metro station and make purchases from the shops at the Metro premises.

This initiative will revolutionize passenger services and save time. For passenger convenience and to usher in digitized payments, Metro Railway has launched QR-coded payment system at pay-and-use toilet at Dakshineswar Metro station from today .

On entering the pay-and-use toilet or at the shops, passengers can scan the prominently displayed QR code and complete the transaction through their preferred digital payment gateway or method (UPI or debit/credit card). Implementation of this QR-code-based payment system will also ensure security and transparency, thereby boosting the Digital India initiative.

Shri Kausik Mitra, Chief Public Relations Officer of Metro Railway said, “This initiative will help the passengers to make their payment online bypassing the ongoing cash exchange process and it will save lot of time for both passengers and the vendors. The passengers are happy with such initiatives.”
