EASTERN RAILWAY ENHANCES COMFORT FOR DIVYANGJAN AND SENIOR CITIZENS/LADY PASSENGERS WITH ADDITIONAL LIFT INSTALLATIONS

Eastern Railway has consistently prioritized the comfort and ease of movement for divyangjan passengers, senior citizens, and lady passengers at its station premises. In line with this commitment, numerous initiatives have been implemented to facilitate easy entry and exit at stations and ensure comfortable movement between platforms.
One significant measure that has brought considerable relief to these passengers is the provision of lifts. Eastern Railway has already installed lifts at various stations. Aiming further augmentation of these facilities, the installation of additional lifts/escalators at several stations has been sanctioned. The completion of these installations is anticipated within a short span of time at different stations as below:-
• Naihati Station: Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, 6 lifts have been proposed.
• Bandel Station: Provision of a lift is included in the station redevelopment project.
• Andal Station: 5 lifts have been sanctioned under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.
• Raniganj Station: Civil and electrical work for the installation of 2 lifts is currently in progress.
• Deoghar Station: 2 escalators have been sanctioned under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.
• Bolpur Shantiniketan: Provision of lift included under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.
These forthcoming additions will significantly enhance the existing facilities, ensuring a higher level of comfort for divyangjan passengers, senior citizens, and lady passengers at the concerned stations.
