OPENING CEREMONY OF
CBSE CLUSTER-I LEVEL BOYS BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT AT ARMY PUBLIC SCHOOL, NARENGI CANTT
With a spectacular opening ceremony, the much-anticipated CBSE Cluster-I Level Boys Basketball Tournament 2024 commenced today at Army Public School, Narangi. This three-day tournament, designed to foster sportsmanship, solidarity and healthy competition among schools, kicked off in grand style.
The event began on September 6, 2024, with an inaugural ceremony presided over by Dr. Bandana Baruah, the principal of Army Public School, Narangi in the presence of Sandeep Tandon, the Chief Guest and Regional Officer of CBSE Guwahati, Assam.
The ceremony commenced with the hoisting of the flag, followed by the lighting of the lamp and a soulful rendition of Ganesh Vandana. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Bandana Baruah delivered an insightful speech, highlighting the significance of “winning with humility and losing with grace,” which set the tone for the tournament.
The Chief Guest, Sandeep Tandon was felicitated by the Principal before delivering an inspiring speech. In his address, he emphasized the importance of sportsmanship, teamwork and the pursuit of excellence in both academics and sports.
Following this, Dikshita Adhikari, the Head Girl of APS Narangi, led the oath-taking ceremony, where participants pledged to uphold the spirit of fair play. The event continued with a vibrant march past display, showcasing the enthusiasm of students from all participating schools.
The ceremony concluded with the Chief Guest officially declaring the tournament open, setting the stage for three days of intense and exciting basketball action.
