BSF sets a new example of humanity, Facilitates two Indian daughters for last glimpse of their deceased Bangladeshi father for the last time on the Zero Line.
District- Malda, 24 September 2024 – South Bengal Frontier, BSF, along with its commitment to ensure the sanctity and security of international borders, has set an rare example of humanity by facilitating the last farewell of deceased Bangladeshi father by his daughters living in India. This heart-touching initiative took place in the area of Border Outpost Alipur, 12th Battalion, BSF under South Bengal Frontier.
Officials said that the incident took place on 22 September 2024 when BGB from Bangladesh informed the Company Commander of Border Outpost Alipur, 12 Battalion, BSF that Mohtar Ali, a resident of Chamusa village in Chapainawabganj district of Bangladesh, died of natural causes at night. His daughters Aklima Bibi and Zulekha Bibi live in the border villages of Mosalempur and North Dinajpur in India and they want to see their deceased father for the last time and pay their respect. After listening to them, the Company Commander took immediate steps keeping in mind the human and emotional aspects.
Keeping the human aspect paramount, the Border Security Forces of both the countries arranged for the daughters living in India to have the last “Darshan” of their deceased Bangladeshi father at the Zero Line near the international border.
The atmosphere remained emotional during the last farewell and gratitude was expressed for the human approach of the BSF. The emotive daughters of the deceased acknowledged the humane gestue of BSF and thanked them profusely for making it possible for them to see their deceased father across the international border and heartily.
The Public Relations Officer of BSF, South Bengal Frontier highlighted the commitment of the force towards social and human values. He emphasized that the BSF jawans remain deployed day and night on the border to ensure the security of the country and always come forward for the humanitarian issues of the people living on the border.
