Office of the Controller of Communication Accounts (CCA), Assam, conducts successful Pensioners’ Outreach Programs across Nine Districts

By PIB Guwahati

The Office of the Controller of Communication Accounts (CCA), Assam, under the Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communications, Government of India, successfully conducted Pensioners’ Outreach Programs in nine districts of Assam as part of the Nationwide Digital Life Certificate (DLC) Campaign 3.0 and Know Your Pensioner (KYP) Pakhwada. The programs were held from 8th November covered the districts of Kamrup (M), Dhubri, Bongaigaon, Nalbari, Barpeta, Mangaldoi, Sonitpur, Nagaon, and Karbi Anglong.

These outreach initiatives were designed to address the concerns of pensioners, streamline the process of submitting digital life certificates (DLC) and raise awareness about pension-related services. A significant milestone was achieved during these events, with approximately 1000 digital life certificates updated and 220 Know Your Pensioner (KYP) forms have been received. The outreach also included home visits to elderly pensioners, including septuagenarians and octogenarians, ensuring that even the most vulnerable pensioners received the necessary assistance.

The Pensioners’ Outreach Programs reflect the Department of Telecommunications’ unwavering commitment to harnessing digital tools to simplify pension-related processes and improve service delivery for pensioners. By facilitating the easy submission of Digital Life Certificates and encouraging pensioners to update their records through the Know Your Pensioner initiative, these programs promote greater accessibility and transparency in the pension distribution system.

These efforts has been done to ensure that pensioners, particularly those in remote and underserved areas, can effectively manage their entitlements through digital platforms, thus enhancing their overall experience with government services.
