Goodluck India Commences Production of Artillery Shells, Boosting Defence Indigenization

New Delhi, India, October 10, 2025: In a significant boost to India’s ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative, Goodluck India Limited’s defence subsidiary Goodluck Defence and Aerospace Ltd has commenced commercial production of artillery Shells at its Sikandrabad in Uttar Pradesh manufacturing facility. The state-of-the-art facility has an initial manufacturing capacity of 150,000 shells per annum, which is planned to be further augmented.

This achievement follows the recent grant of a landmark industrial license under the Indian Arms Act, 1959, to Goodluck India’s defence subsidiary. The license enables the manufacturing of a complete range of medium-calibre artillery shells, including major sizes such as 105mm, 120mm, 125mm, 130mm, and 155mm, positioning the company as a key contributor to India’s defence indigenization efforts.

The state-of-the-art facility offers comprehensive advanced manufacturing capabilities including forging, machining, heat treatment, and coating of steel, stainless steel, special steels, and alloys. Specifically designed to meet the evolving requirements of the defence and aerospace sectors, this development significantly enhances India’s indigenous manufacturing capabilities for critical defence components.

In another strategic move supporting India’s self-reliance manufacturing, Goodluck India Ltd., along with BrahMos Aerospace Thiruvananthapuram Ltd (BATL) and Axiscades Technologies Ltd, has entered into a tripartite memorandum of understanding for collaboration on the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) programme. The consortium has successfully filed an Expression of Interest with the Aeronautical Development Agency, Bengaluru, reinforcing India’s capabilities in next-generation aerospace technology.

Established in 1986 and listed on BSE and NSE since 2015, Goodluck India Limited manufactures a diverse range of engineering steel, seamless tubes, structures, and precision components. Serving multiple sectors including automotive, infrastructure, energy, and defence, the company operates from its registered office in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, with multiple manufacturing units across the region.
