APPREHENSION OF INDIAN FISHING BOAT LAXMINARAYAN
On 22 Jan 26, Indian Coast Guard Station Frazerganj successfully conducted an operation and apprehended the Indian Fishing Boat (IFB) Laxminarayan (Registration No. IND WB DS MM 9460) for smuggling betel nuts from Bangladesh to India.
On receipt of INT input, the Coast Guard boarding Team reached the reported position and confiscated the abandoned boat. The boarding party carried out rummaging of the vessel and recovered 52 bags of betel nuts weighing 50 kg each, amounting to a total of 2600 kgs. The apprehended IFB Laxminarayan was thereafter brought to Frazerganj and berthed at Benfish Fishing jetty. The boat has been handed over to the Coastal Police Station Frazerganj for further legal proceedings
