Kolkata Metro to Run Additional Early Morning Services on June 21 for Yoga Day & NEET-UG 2026
Kolkata, June 18, 2026:
To facilitate commuters attending the International Day of Yoga celebrations at Red Road and candidates appearing for the NEET-UG 2026 examination, Metro Railway Kolkata will operate special early morning services starting from 04:00 hrs on Sunday, June 21, 2026, across the Blue, Green, and Yellow Lines.
The initiative aims to ensure smooth, timely, and hassle-free travel during the early hours. While additional services will be introduced, the last train timings will remain unchanged across all operational lines.
Blue Line (Dakshineswar – Shahid Khudiram)
- Total services increased to 214 (107 UP & 107 DN) from the usual 152 Sunday services.
- Trains will run at 14–15 minute intervals between 04:00 hrs and 08:00 hrs.
First Services:
- 04:00 hrs: Dakshineswar → Shahid Khudiram
- 04:00 hrs: Noapara → Shahid Khudiram
- 04:00 hrs: Mahanayak Uttam Kumar → Shahid Khudiram (Special)
- 04:00 hrs: Shahid Khudiram → Dakshineswar
- 04:00 hrs: Mahanayak Uttam Kumar → Dakshineswar
- 04:00 hrs: Noapara → Dakshineswar (Special)
Green Line (Howrah Maidan – Salt Lake Sector V)
- Total services increased to 173 (87 UP & 86 DN) from 108 Sunday services.
- Trains will operate at 10–15 minute intervals between 04:00 hrs and 09:00 hrs, after which normal Sunday schedules will resume.
First Services:
- 04:00 hrs: Howrah Maidan → Salt Lake Sector V
- 04:02 hrs: Salt Lake Sector V → Howrah Maidan
Yellow Line (Noapara – Jai Hind Bimanbandar)
- Total services increased to 112 (56 UP & 56 DN) from 78 Sunday services.
- Trains will run at 18–20 minute intervals between 04:18 hrs and 09:00 hrs, followed by regular Sunday operations.
First Services:
- 04:18 hrs: Noapara → Jai Hind Bimanbandar
- 04:40 hrs: Jai Hind Bimanbandar → Noapara
Additional Information
- No change in the last metro timings across Blue, Green, and Yellow Lines.
- No services will be available on the Purple Line and Orange Line on June 21.
