IIT Bhubaneswar Wins Rajbhasha Excellence Award–2026

Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar (IIT Bhubaneswar) has been honoured with the First Prize in the Rajbhasha Excellence Award–2026, recognising the institute’s performance in implementing the Official Language during the financial year 2025–26.
The award was presented on 21 August 2026 by Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati, Governor of Odisha, during the First International Rajbhasha Annual Summit, Odisha–2026, held in Bhubaneswar. The summit was jointly organised by the Nagar Rajbhasha Karyanvayan Samiti (NARAKAS) units covering Office–2, Undertakings and Banks.
Representing IIT Bhubaneswar, Shri Bamadev Acharya, Registrar, and Dr. Indresh Yadav, Assistant Professor of Physics, received the award from the Governor of Odisha.
The recognition highlights the institute’s sustained efforts towards the effective adoption, promotion and implementation of Hindi as the Official Language. It also reflects the collective contribution of the institute’s academic and administrative community towards strengthening the use of Rajbhasha in institutional activities.
The achievement places IIT Bhubaneswar among institutions recognised for their efforts in advancing Official Language implementation and adds another distinction to the institute’s institutional journey.
