IAF’s Sarang Helicopter Display Team Arrives in Egypt for El Alamein International Airshow 2026
Indian Air Force’s elite five-helicopter team to showcase precision flying and indigenous ALH Dhruv capabilities from September 8–10

The Sarang Helicopter Display Team of the Indian Air Force (IAF) has arrived in Egypt to participate in the 2nd El Alamein International Airshow, scheduled to take place from September 8 to 10, 2026, at El Alamein International Airport.
The participation marks another significant international engagement for the Indian Air Force and is expected to further reinforce the growing defence and diplomatic relationship between India and Egypt.
Sarang to Take India’s Indigenous Aviation Capability to Egyptian Skies
The Sarang team is recognised as the world’s only five-helicopter aerobatic display team. During the Egyptian airshow, its pilots will demonstrate highly synchronised formations, close-proximity flying and demanding aerial manoeuvres that showcase the precision and discipline of the IAF.
The team operates the Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) Dhruv, an indigenously designed and manufactured helicopter, giving the display a special significance for India’s growing aerospace capabilities.
Through its choreographed performances, Sarang will highlight not only the exceptional flying skills of its pilots but also the versatility and agility of India’s indigenous helicopter platform.
‘Dolphin Leap’ and New ‘Spot Stall Turn’ to Feature
Among the highlights of the Sarang performance will be its signature “Dolphin Leap” manoeuvre.
The team will also introduce a new aerial manoeuvre, the “Spot Stall Turn,” during its participation at the El Alamein show.
The displays are expected to provide aviation enthusiasts and spectators from around the world with an opportunity to witness the manoeuvrability of the ALH Dhruv and the demanding standards of precision flying maintained by the Indian Air Force.
Strengthening India-Egypt Defence Engagement
The El Alamein International Airshow brings together air forces, aerospace companies and professionals from the aviation, defence and space sectors from across the world.
The presence of the Sarang team adds an important Indian dimension to the international event while providing an opportunity for interaction and professional exchange with participating air forces and aviation teams.
The IAF’s participation is also expected to contribute to strengthening India’s defence outreach and people-to-people connections with Egypt and other participating countries.
