Kolkata, September 11, 2026: Cooking, creativity and competition came together in Kolkata as Borosil and Home Centre – The Social Kitchen joined hands to host the ‘Cook. Create. Conquer.’ culinary challenge at Home Centre, Axis Mall, New Town.
The interactive on-ground event brought together home cooks, food enthusiasts and customers for a live cooking experience, with celebrity chef Harpal Singh Sokhi serving as the judge and engaging directly with the participants.
Home cooks put their skills to the test
As part of the culinary challenge, participants prepared their dishes live in front of Chef Harpal. Their cooking skills were assessed through a combination of creativity, technique and flavour, while the chef interacted with contestants, observed their methods, tasted their creations and shared practical culinary insights.
The event also gave visitors an opportunity to watch the competition from close quarters and participate in the broader food-focused experience. Chef Harpal’s energetic interaction with both contestants and the audience added an entertainment element to the afternoon.
Borosil cookware showcased in a real kitchen setting
The initiative also provided Borosil with an opportunity to demonstrate its cookware and kitchen solutions in an actual cooking environment.
Rather than presenting the products solely through a conventional retail display, the event placed them within a live culinary setting, allowing consumers to see how the products can be used in everyday cooking.
Chef Harpal Singh Sokhi highlighted the enthusiasm and originality displayed by the participating home cooks, noting that every home cook brings an individual approach to combining flavours and ideas. He described the event as an opportunity for participants to showcase their creativity while celebrating the enjoyment of cooking.
