Amit Shah Assures Four States of Centre’s Support Amid Cyclone Arnab

New Delhi, October 29, 2026: Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah has reached out to the Chief Ministers of Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Puducherry following the impact of Cyclone Arnab, assuring them of comprehensive assistance from the Central Government to address the situation and minimise public hardship.

In a statement shared on the social media platform X, Shah said the Centre was committed to supporting the affected states and Union Territory as they dealt with the challenges posed by the cyclone.

According to the Home Minister, teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Forces (SDRF) have been deployed and are conducting rescue and relief operations on a priority basis to assist affected communities.

The Centre is also preparing to dispatch Inter-Ministerial Central Teams (IMCTs) to assess the extent of the damage and determine the additional assistance required by the affected regions. Their assessments are expected to help establish the scale of the impact and identify further relief and recovery needs.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment to disaster response, Shah said the Union Government stood firmly with the affected people and would extend the necessary support to help mitigate their difficulties.

The ongoing rescue and relief efforts, along with the proposed central assessments, are aimed at addressing immediate humanitarian needs and facilitating further assistance wherever required.
