IIM Bangalore leadership highlights placement performance
The institute’s fourteen-member student Placement Committee described the outcome as a significant achievement, stating that more than 600 students received offers within two days. The committee further described it as a record for the highest number of offers made during a two-day summer placement process across IIMs.
Prof. Nishant Kumar Verma, Chairperson of Career Development Services at IIM Bangalore, attributed the outcome to the capabilities of the students, continued confidence among recruiting partners and effective coordination between the Placement Committee and the Career Development Services office.
He also emphasised the institute’s commitment to strengthening its corporate relationships and maintaining long-term engagement with recruiters.
Mr. Tapas Ranjan Pati, Head of Career Development Services, noted that leading global recruiters had provided positive feedback on student performance and the overall recruitment process.
He identified management consulting as the most preferred domain, followed by finance and investments and product management. He also highlighted the continued participation of established global FMCG companies and major Indian conglomerates, along with the strong recruitment contribution from Accenture Strategy.
First-time recruiters strengthen participation
An important feature of this year’s placement process was the participation of new recruiters. Approximately 40% of the organisations taking part were first-time recruiters, indicating an expansion of the institute’s corporate recruitment network.
The placement committee expressed appreciation to both longstanding and new recruiting partners, acknowledging their contribution to the successful completion of the process.
With all 608 participating students receiving offers, the Summer Placement 2026–28 process reflects continued recruiter engagement across traditional management sectors as well as technology, analytics, financial services and emerging business domains.
