ICC Conference on Textiles & Apparel with a gala “Fashion Show” & ICC Apparel Awards
The revival of the Forgotten Era of Heritage Fabric of India
12th July 2019, Kolkata: Indian chamber of commerce organized the “ICC Conference on Textiles & Apparel” that was followed by Designer Round Table Conference & ICC Apparel Awards. The roundtable conference was attended by eminent designers who were particularly working with the Indian heritage fabrics and weaving and stitching techniques, and have brought them to the International dais. Personalities such as Mr. Abhishek Dutta, Fashion Designer, Mr. Bappaditya Biswas, Founder, Byloom, Mr. Rachit Agarwal, Co Founder, Simaaya & Sasya Group, Ms. Chaitali Das, Social Entrepreneur & Mg. Trustee, Rakshak Foundation, Ms Agnimitra Paul, Fashion Designer, Ms Shamlu Dudeja, Fashion Designer and Ms Sharbari Dutta, Fashion Designer deliberated on how the Indian fabrics and handlooms are being used so far and what are the way forward for their optimal utilization and sustainability.
This was followed by the ICC Apparel Awards. The winners in the Best Men’s Clothing Brand was Turtle Limited, Best Women’s Clothing Brand was Prapti Fashions, Best Children’s Brand was Zero Clothing Co. and Best Innerwear brand was Macho.
Mr. Keshari Nath Tripathi, Hon’ble Governor of West Bengal was the Chief Guest of the session who stated that West Bengal has immense potential in the apparels sector.

The roundtable conference was followed by a Fashion show that showcased designs of prominent fashion designers such as Ms Agnimitra Paul; Ms Shamlu Dudeja; Ms Sharbari Dutta; Ms. Chaitali Das, Social Entrepreneur & Mg. Trustee, Rakshak Foundation; and Mrs. Lata Harlalka & Mrs. Anwesha Harlalka. The designs were themed to around sustainable fashion.
