The original Hurricane of World Cricket Kapil Dev Ramlal Nikhanj was conferred with P.C. Chandra Puraskar 2021. The 28th edition of the award was a showstopper event in the City of Joy as the recipient is none other than the Legend of World Cricket and icon for every Indian.
West Bengal State Minister Shri Subrata Mukherjee, P.C. Chandra Group MD Uday Kumar Chandra handed over the certificate and trophy to the legend at P.C. Chandra Garden near Science City in Kolkata.
Kapil Dev said this city is with many memories he had enjoyed right from the school days as a player and he loves the way people love him every time he comes back to the city.
In did Kolkata protested with “NO KAPIL, NO TEST” when selectors dropped him at Kolkata Eden Gardens Test. Kapil always enjoys the status of Boy Next Door for cricket lovers of Bengal.
