In a bid to enhance the transportation capability of the Indian Army, the Ministry of Defence has signed a contract worth Rs.197.35 Crores with M/s Ashok Leyland Defence Systems Ltd for 500 Pre-fabricated Short Chassis Buses.

The Short Chassis Buses with reinforced structure are equipped with advanced technology and safety features, capable of operating in extreme rugged mountainous terrain. These buses will greatly enhance the operational reach of Indian Army.
The procurement being a Buy (Indian-IDDM) case will not only boost the indigenous defence manufacturing capability but also lead to sustained employment generation. The present case will play a pivotal role as the flag bearer of our endeavour for an ‘Aatmnirbhar Bharat’.
