FELICITATION CEREMONY FOR PRE-RECRUITMENT RALLY AT UDALGURI
A felicitation ceremony for the successful youth joining IA was organised by the Civil Society in collaboration with the Civil Administration to honour the dedicated training and spirit of the Indian Army towards the selection of Bodo youth in the Agnipath Scheme of the Indian Army was organised at Udalguri Higher Secondary School, Udalguri, on 06 June 2026. The event was graced by Shri Rihon Daimari, Deputy Chief Executive Member of the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), underscoring the significant collaboration between the Army and the local community towards nation-building. The ceremony highlighted the successful outreach initiative of the Army towards the youth, aimed at recruiting young talent into the Indian Army. Shri Rihon Daimari praised the commitment of the various training teams, acknowledging their efforts in shaping the future of the participants and contributing to the nation’s security.
As part of its various community initiatives, the Indian Army conducted mega awareness drives in local schools and colleges, targeting over 2,000 students from 30 schools/colleges. The initiative began with a pre-recruitment rally conducted on 23 Nov 2024. Following rigorous scrutiny, 343 candidates were selected based on their performance in the mock tests. The selected candidates were formed into batches and trained by Red Horns Gunners at nominated locations to prepare for the Common Entrance Exam.
For the batch of 2025, out of 343 candidates, 234 successfully cleared the written examination. Thereafter, the selected aspirants underwent rigorous physical training under a dedicated team. The final physical tests in the recruitment rally took place from 13 to 15 Feb 2026, culminating in the selection of 119 male candidates. Out of these, 50 have received their joining letters.
The felicitation ceremony is not only to celebrate the achievements of the training team and the aspirants, but also to motivate youth to join the security forces and contribute to nation-building. In partnership with the Civil Administration, the Indian Army undertakes numerous other community-building initiatives, including sports tournaments, vocational skill development, and environmental awareness drives.
