KMC ISSUES NOC FOR CLOSURE OF WATER TRANSMISSION LINE ALONG BT ROAD

The proposed Pink Line Corridor of Metro Railway, Kolkata between Baranagar and Barrackpore has got a big boost as Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) has granted the No Objection Certificate for closure of the existing 48-inch diameter water transmission line along BT Road. In a letter dated 24.08.2026, the Administrator and Municipal Commissioner, KMC, Smt. Smita Pandey, has intimated the same to the General Manager Projects of Rail Vikas Nigam Limited ( RVNL), the executing agency. This decision has cleared the execution of the Baranagar – Barrackpore Metro project along BT Road over a length of 12 Km (approx.).
