BENGALURU, 12 October 2026: The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) has strengthened its standing in global management education, with its two-year Post Graduate Programme in Enterprise Management (PGPEM) securing the 64th position worldwide and second place in India in the Financial Times (FT) Executive MBA Ranking 2026.

Designed specifically for working professionals seeking advanced management education while continuing their careers, the programme advanced eight positions from 72nd in 2025. Its latest performance highlights the career progression and financial benefits reported by its alumni.

Alumni Salary Growth Reaches 102%

One of the most significant outcomes in this year’s assessment is the sharp improvement in alumni salary growth. IIM Bangalore recorded a 102% salary increase, compared with 82% in the previous year, placing the institution among the world’s top 10 business schools for this indicator. It is the only Indian business school to feature in the global top 10 for salary increase in the 2026 ranking.

The average salary of PGPEM alumni three years after graduation also increased substantially, reaching US$285,934, up from US$243,035 in 2025. These figures underline the programme’s potential to support professionals in strengthening their managerial capabilities and advancing their careers.

IIM Bangalore Emphasises Professional and Organisational Impact

Commenting on the programme’s performance, Professor U Dinesh Kumar, Director-in-Charge of IIM Bangalore, highlighted its focus on helping experienced professionals expand their management expertise and apply their learning to real organisational challenges.

He noted that the latest Financial Times results, particularly the improvement in alumni salary outcomes, reflect the value participants derive from the programme.

PGPEM is structured to help professionals deepen their understanding of business strategy, leadership and organisational management while remaining engaged in their respective industries.

Ranking Reflects Career Progress and Institutional Performance

The Financial Times Executive MBA Ranking evaluates programmes using institutional information and feedback from alumni. Its assessment includes several parameters, such as current salaries, salary growth, career advancement, professional experience, achievement of career objectives and the strength of alumni networks.

Beyond its salary performance, IIM Bangalore also registered progress in sustainability-related measures. Its carbon footprint ranking improved to 19th globally, compared with 23rd in 2025. The institute also reported a modest improvement in gender diversity across female faculty, students and board representation.

PGPEM Maintains Its Leadership in India

The latest Financial Times recognition adds to the programme’s achievements in international business education. In the QS Executive MBA Rankings 2026, PGPEM retained its position as India’s No. 1 Executive MBA programme and remained the only Indian business school represented among the world’s top 100.

The results reinforce IIM Bangalore’s position as a leading destination for experienced professionals seeking to combine academic learning with career development. Its improved global standing and strong alumni salary outcomes further highlight the growing importance of executive management education in preparing professionals for leadership responsibilities in an increasingly competitive business environment.
