Demonetisation: Mamata Banerjee offers ‘concrete suggestions’ to restore normalcy
Bengal Chief Minister today urged the government not to make “anymore faltu, action-less announcements” and offered “some concrete suggestions which will help restore normalcy and help all people who are suffering”.
“We are looking for solutions,” the Chief Minister said. “Govt should allow old Rs 500 notes to remain in circulation along with new notes. Also, Rs 100/50/10 notes must be made easily available. Rs 1000 notes may be withdrawn when circulation improves by December 30. Or at your discretion,” she suggested to the Centre.
“Tea garden workers are not getting their dues. Fishes and vegetables are rotting due to notes crisis. Small businesses are hit. If farmers are not able to purchase and sow seeds, there will be no paddy and wheat production in the country,” the CM said.
“The Govt has not thought about the thousands of villages where there are no post offices and banks. The situation is very grave,” she added.

বাংলার মাননীয়া মুখ্যমন্ত্রী আজ কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারকে বার্তা দিয়ে বলেন, “শুধু ভাষণে আর কাজ হবে না, কিছু করে দেখান।”
সাধারণ মানুষের কষ্ট দূর করতে ও পরিস্থিতি স্বাভাবিক করতে তিনি কেন্দ্রকে কিছু সমাধান সূত্র দেন।
তিনি বলেন, “আমরা সমাধান চাই। সরকারের উচিত নতুন নোটের পাশাপাশি ৫০০ টাকার পুরোনো নোট চালু রাখা, সঙ্গে ১০০/৫০/১০ টাকার নোটের যোগান যথেষ্ট পরিমানে মজুদ রাখা। টাকার যোগান স্বাভাবিক হলে, আপনাদের যখন ঠিক মনে আপনারা ১০০০ টাকার নোট প্রত্যাহার করে নিন। ৩০শে ডিসেম্বরেও করতে পারেন।”
তিনি আরও বলেন, “চা বাগানের শ্রমিকরা তাদের বকেয়া মজুরি পাচ্ছে না, শাক সবজি ও মাছ পচে যাচ্ছে ক্রেতাদের কাছে নোটের অভাবের জন্যে। ছোট ব্যবসায়ীরা ব্যাপকভাবে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হচ্ছে। চাষীরা যদি বীজ কিনতে ও বপন করতে না পারে, সারা দেশ জুড়ে কোথাও ধান ও গমের ফলন হবে না। কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার সেই সকল হাজারো গ্রামের কথা ভাবেননি যেখানে দূর দূর অবধি কোনো পোস্ট অফিস বা ব্যাঙ্ক নেই। পরিস্থিতি খুবই সঙ্কটজনক।”
