Bengal Govt enabling self-reliance in farmers
In a move to make vegetable, fruit and flower growers in Bengal self-reliant, the Mamata Banerjee-led State Government is enabling the export of these agricultural and horticultural products to European countries.
It has been found that vegetables and fruits like beans, pumpkins, bananas and papayas, especially from the district of Nadia, are quite popular among Bengalis and Asians in European countries. Hence, vegetables produced in the district are being exported to England, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, France and Switzerland.
This is the first time when vegetables are being exported from the State with the assistance of the State Government. The second consignment from Nadia district was recently exported; the first batch was sent on December 20.
Gerbera flowers (a type of daisy) are also being cultivated for exporting.
The State Government has taken certain steps to make the products suitable for export.
Irrigation and application of fertilisers are being done through drip irrigation system to control production and maintain quality.
To enable the perishable products to stay fresh for export, storage facilities like hi-tech poly houses have been constructed. Seventy-four hi-tech and 27 low-cost polyhouses have been set up across Nadia.
Ever since coming to power in 2011, the Trinamool Congress Government has been proactively promoting agricultural activities in the State.
কৃষকদের স্বনির্ভর করতে উদ্যোগী রাজ্য সরকার
শাক, সবজি, ফুল ও ফল চাষিদের স্বনির্ভর করতে এবং তাদের উৎপাদিত শাক, সবজি, ফুল ও ফল সরাসরি ইউরোপের দেশগুলিতে রপ্তানি করার উদ্যোগ নিল মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় পরিচালিত রাজ্য সরকার।
লক্ষ্য করা গেছে বাংলা তথা নদিয়া জেলায় উৎপন্ন ফল ও আনাজ শুধু বাঙালি নয়, সারা ইউরোপে সব এশিয়াবাসির কাছে খুবই পছন্দের। তাই, নদিয়া জেলায় উৎপন্ন হওয়া শাক, সবজি ও ফল এখন থেকে পাড়ি দিচ্ছে ইংল্যান্ড, ইতালি, জার্মানি, নেদারল্যান্ডস, ফ্রান্স ও সুইজারল্যান্ডে।
এই প্রথম রাজ্য সরকারের তত্ত্বাবধানে রাজ্য থেকে সরাসরি শাক, সবজি ও ফল সরাসরি রফতানি করা হচ্ছে। ডিসেম্বরের ২০ তারিখ প্রথম দফার রফতানি করা হয় ও তার পর দ্বিতীয় দফার রফতানিও করা হয়েছে।
বিভিন্ন ধরনের ডেইসি ফুলও চাষ করা হচ্ছে রফতানির জন্য। এর জন্য বেশ কিছু পদক্ষেপও নিয়েছে রাজ্য সরকার।
উপযুক্ত সারের ব্যাবহার ও ড্রিপ সেচ ব্যাবহারের মাধ্যমে চাষ করা হচ্ছে যাতে উৎপাদনের পরিমান ও গুনমান দুটি’ই বজায় থাকে।
সহজে পচনশীল কৃষিজ দ্রব্যগুলোকে তাজা রাখার জন্য অত্যাধুনিক পলিহাউস তৈরি করা হয়েছে। নদিয়ায় মোট ৭৪টি অত্যাধুনিক ও ২৭টি কম খরচের পলিহাউস তৈরি করা হয়েছে।
২০১১ সালে ক্ষমতায় আসার পর তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস সারা রাজ্যে কৃষিকাজের উন্নতিসাধনে বিশেষ উদ্যোগ নিয়েছে।
