MAKAUT, WB Fourth among Universities in India to give Access to DigiLocker System to Students
Kolkata, 14th March, 2023: Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), WB has given access to the Digital Locker (DigiLocker) system of the central government to its students. Students may access their degree/diploma certificates, mark sheets, and other documents via DigiLocker. In order to do so, they should register on DigiLocker. Students may register on the ABC portal to verify the availability of credits in their ABC account. Upon registration, an ABC ID will be created, which must be submitted to academic institutions so that credits may be sent into their respective ABC accounts. MAKAUT is the fourth University in India to create an ABC account. Academic Bank of Credits helps in enabling students’ mobility across higher educational institutions. It will benefit the student community at large.
National Academic Depository (NAD) is born out of an initiative by MHRD to provide a 24X7 online depository to Academic institutions to store and publish their academic documents. The digital depository not only ensures easy access to and retrieval of an academic document but also validates and guarantees its authenticity and safe storage. It reduces administrative overhead by minimizing the use of paper and curtailing the verification process. It is permanent and safe record keeping for all institutions. Students can access and transfer their awards easily. It also avoids the risk of forged certificates.
